Charlie Heard MSc Bio

I am a retired engineering and supply chain professional with over 40 years' experience in industry. Having worked at a senior level across a range of business roles and disciplines, I hope to bring an industry and business perspective to the governing board. I am especially passionate about STEP and that we create fully inclusive learning environments that create opportunities for all. I will utilise my industry experience to assure and enable the learning environment to best effect for our young peoples' futures.

Whilst working, I was actively involved, both in a business and personal capacity, with local community and growth programmes and spent much of my spare time whilst working, supporting and leading local youth organisations.  I am keen to continue this passion for creating opportunities to engage, enthuse and support our young people and the team at Ford to achieve their goals and aims.  Enabling an environment where every pupil feels seen and supported.  I am therefore excited to take a local Governor role at Ford.  Including taking on the lead role for SEND.  Having grown up locally in Keyham, it is a place that resonates with me, and I am thrilled and privileged to be part of your journey.

I am a keen walker and have a passion for our city, particularly our beautiful waterfront and harbour areas.
