Higher Level Teaching Assistant | Mrs Weir
"Together we will...foster independence in our young learners."
Bio
I have proudly been a part of the Ford Primary community for most of my life—first as a pupil and now as a dedicated member of staff for over 28 years. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), I am passionate about supporting children's learning and development, especially in the Early Years.
I am trained in ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Elklan (speech and language support), and I take great pride in helping children grow into confident, independent learners. Inspiring young minds and nurturing their potential is at the heart of everything I do.
Outside of school, I cherish spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren, and love making the most of trips and outings whenever I can.

Why Ford?
Ford Primary has always held a special place within my heart. It's where my won learning journey began as a child, bieng able to return here as a member of staff has felt like coming full circle.
What am I reading?
I really enjoy reading mystery novel and love getting lost in a good story, solving puzzles and following the twists and turns. There's something exciting about not knowing what is coming next!
What am I researching?
I am currently exploring ways to support and develop independence in Early Years learners. I'm especially interested in how small, consistent strategies can help young children build confidence and take ownership of their learning.
