Welcome to Ford Primary School

"Together we will... nurture potential and celebrate success."

Bio

I have been teaching at Ford Primary School for the past 13 years and feel incredibly proud to be part of such a supportive and nurturing community. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with children across different year groups and have especially enjoyed helping them grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence. I love creating a positive, engaging classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to do their best.

Throughout my time at Ford, I have also enjoyed leading a range of subjects across the school, including PE, MFL, PSHE, and more recently, History. Supporting colleagues and helping to shape a rich and varied curriculum for all pupils has been a particularly rewarding part of my teaching journey.

In addition to my classroom role, I’ve loved supporting a variety of extracurricular activities, particularly those involving gardening and cookery, where children can develop practical skills, teamwork, and a sense of pride in their achievements beyond the classroom.

Why Ford?

I started here part-time in 2012 and have never left! That says something about the school — it must be a special place to want to stay this long. The supportive staff and strong sense of being part of the Ford family make it feel like home every day.

What am I reading?

I take great pleasure in reading alongside my children at home. Visiting the library has become a cherished weekly tradition that my family and I eagerly anticipate.

What am I researching?

As a subject leader in History, I am focused on deepening my knowledge to improve curriculum development and enhance learning experiences. I’m particularly interested in exploring the local area’s history, which helps me bring fresh perspectives to the school, especially since I’m not originally from Plymouth.
